Registering to Vote:​

Process to Register to Vote:

1. If you are unsure of your voter registration status, you can verify it at https://voterservices.elections.maryland.gov/votersearch

2. Fill in the required information (First and last name, date of birth, and zipcode).

3. Hit Search, a result will be generated that will show your registration status. 

4. If you are not registered to vote, you can do so either online or submit a voter registration application through mail to your Local or State Board of Elections.

Process to Register to Vote Online:

1. To begin your online registration go to: https://voterservices.elections.maryland.gov/OnlineVoterRegistration/InstructionsStep1

2. Click “start” to begin the application. Make sure you are only submitting an application for yourself, it is prohibited to submit or update a registration for anyone else.

3. Make sure to have either your MVA issued driver's license, State ID, or your Social Security Number on hand while filling out the application.

 

Process to Register to Vote Through Mail:

1. To begin, you can access the Voter Registration Form here: https://elections.maryland.gov/voter_registration/application.html

2. Download and print the form. Make sure to complete all fields of information including the signature. Your registration cannot be processed without an original signature.

3. Once the form is completed you can either mail it to the State Board of Elections (P.O. Box 6486 Annapolis, MD 21401-0486) or to your County’s Board of Elections (see below for list).

 

Process to Request Mail-in Ballot:

1. To request a mail-in ballot go to: https://voterservices.elections.maryland.gov/OnlineMailinRequest/InstructionsStep1

2. Click “Next” to begin the form, make sure to complete it fully and that you are only requesting a ballot for yourself. 

3. To request a ballot you will need to provide the following information…

• Your name

• Your Date of Birth

• Drivers license/Permit number, ID number, or your SSN

**If you do not have any of the previously listed IDs you can submit a mail-in ballot request form to request for a mail in ballot.
